From your results it appears as if networking is really important to everyone reading your blog. Is that because tey have already identified the importance of networking before they found this blog or because it is a generally accepted part of advanced business development?

I think that the new medium for networking referred to as 'eNetworking' will continue
to flourish. I don't agree that having to many individuals linked to one another
somehow 'waters down' the effect. That is like saying that a very social person
that takes it upon him or herself to smile and say hello to every chap they meet
on the street is somehow doing the same thing. There those who 'get it' with
networking and those who do not. To me this seems to be a new phenomena
or a new science than many are attempting to classify, analyze, and harness
the powers. It seems to me that that idea of 'social capital' and the idea
of trying to manage and guide the flow of information is not something new but
the way in which it is being done has changed dramatically. Previously in fields
such as economics the idea of 'opportunity cost' was a foreign idea to those that
had focused purely on the 'numbers'.
I think that these new applications allow us to be 'hyper-aware' of our connections,
better manage them, track them, and stay in touch over time. As with the
creation of the personal computer, giving each individual the power of an IBM
mainframe in their house, now too can each individual have access to networks
around the globe for whatever purpose they choose.
